What is the Joon Loloi PTO policy?

Guidelines and Process for Requesting and Managing PTO

PTO Policy 

Effective 2/21/2025 

As a small team, the absence of even one member is noticeable. However, it's crucial for you to take PTO and recharge mentally. 

While we strive to approve all PTO requests, it may not always be possible. Even though you have earned PTO, and we encourage you to use it, we must also ensure the smooth operation of the business. Therefore, there may be instances where your request is denied, despite having available time. 

According to the company handbook, PTO requests should be made at least two weeks in advance. However, our team’s attendance policy allows for requests to be submitted 72 hours in advance, except for emergencies. We will do our best to accommodate urgent situations, but last-minute approvals (under 72 hours) cannot be guaranteed. 

Process 

  • We will open PTO for the current quarter on the first day of the month. If you know that you need a day, get it in! For multiple requests on the same day, please see the process below. 
  • Q1: Open Jan 1 
  • Q2: Opens April 1 
  • Q3: Opens July 1 
  • Q4: Open Oct 1 
  • We will review all PTO requests within 72 hours and provide an approval or denial.  
  • We will only review requests within the same quarter, unless it is for a planned vacation that requires you to purchase flights, hotels, etc.  
  • For these requests, please talk to someone in leadership, before you purchase anything. We will review these as needed and are the exception to the rule.  
  • Due to the nature of our business, all requests over 5 days will need to be approved by Colin.  

Unavailable Time 

  • Only one team member can be off at a time. If someone else is already on PTO, your request will be denied. 
  • This is why we do not approve PTO requests outside the current quarter. This ensures fairness and prevents a few individuals from booking all their days for the year, blocking others from making requests. 
  • We will have blackout dates during sales events and possibly the following week. PTO will not be available during these times unless otherwise communicated. 
  • Please see the team calendar for all 2025 blackout dates. 

Multiple Requests 

If multiple requests are made for the same date, we will consider the following factors to determine approval: 

  • Who has the most PTO days available? 
  • If all individuals have the same number of days, we will review attendance records. The person with the fewest attendance issues will receive approval. 
  • If attendance is equal, we will evaluate goals. The person with the highest productivity and audit scores will receive approval.
