What natural fibers and materials are used in your pillows and rugs?
Overview of natural and recycled fibers used in our products.
Our pillows, like some of our rugs, are also made from natural fibers.
Ramie: Ramie is made from the stalks of the Chinese Nettle plant and has been around for over five-thousand years. It's often compared to linen with crisp, lightweight feel and is moisture-absorbent, anti-bacterial, and resistant to mildew, shrinkage, and high temperatures.
Recycled Sari Silk: This yarn is a by-product of colorful saris that women wear in South Asia. The loose ends of saris are collected from industrial mills in India and hand spun into yarn, making it a unique and sustainable option.
Silk: Silk is a natural protein fiber that features a soft hand, feel lustrous appearance, and superior draping qualities.
Bamboo Viscose: Bamboo viscose is made from the pulp or cellulose of bamboo plants and is naturally hypoallergenic.
Velvet: Velvet is made in the pile weave of silk, cotton, or synthetic fibers and is characterized by a soft, downy surface formed by clipped yarns.
Wool: Wool is a natural fiber obtained from various animals, but in rug production the term “wool” usually refers to the fibrous protein derived from sheep. The quality of wool is determined by various factors, but fiber diameter is the single most important wool characteristic determining quality and price. The finer the wool, the softer it is, while coarser grades are more durable.
