What is a portable light?
Definition and examples of portable lighting.
Portable lighting includes any light that can be carried, relocated, and connected to any electrical outlet—as opposed to a hardwired light, like a pendant, sconce, or chandelier.
Table/Floor: In addition to being flexible, table and floor lamps are often used as task lights since they can be positioned in various positions based on the task at hand (such as adjacent to a reading chair or atop a desk). Unlike ambient lights, they typically provide light downward, illuminating the surface below rather than creating a general glow, which prevents them from often being used as ambient lights.
