How do I get my rug to lay flat after unrolling it?

Simple steps to smooth out wrinkles or curling edges in your rug.

It’s common for rugs to arrive with slight rippling, curling, or wrinkles due to being rolled or folded during shipping. Here’s how you can help your rug lay flat and look its best.

One of the easiest ways to flatten a rug is to reverse roll it along the diagonal.

  • Roll the rug tightly in the opposite direction of the curl.

  • Allow it to rest in this position for 1–2 days so the fibers can unbuckle and relax.

  • For faster results, you can place the reverse-rolled rug outdoors in direct sunlight for a few hours. The heat will release tension in the fibers.
